Change is beautiful, exciting and rejuvenating. Change can also be extremely terrifying. The fear of the unknown can put us at a standstill. We may even be comfortable with our problems in order to not face change. What helps tremendously to release that fearful control of not knowing is taking a tally of past incidences. When you believed you were never going to make it through the stress or sadness. When you never thought your heart would stop breaking. When you never thought you would feel better again. You did! You did feel better again. You did get relief from the pain. It can be incredibly hard and difficult to see when you put your healing process on a deadline though. Things usually don’t happen in the time frame we are hoping for. But when you start to believe that it is okay not to know how it will, just that it will, positive changes will arrive. Letting go of the control and saying it’s okay I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. I don’t know what next month will bring. Say to yourself “I’m handing over my burdens, fears, and doubt and trusting my plan.” Positive reframing is a perfect beginning to changing the belief of needing control of the unknown. You may start doing this by waking up every morning and saying “This is a wonderful life. This is a beautiful life. I’m so excited to see what this day brings to me.” Start saying yes to trust! Growing up on a farm my family had many outdoor fires in the summertime. Roasting marshmallows and sitting around the fire with my parents and sisters were some of the best memories of my life. I loved when the night sky was perfectly clear. I would wish on the brightest stars I could find. I would wish for all the things I wanted my future to look like. Our lives usually are not the same as adults as we envisioned they would be when we are children. As we are writing our life’s map it’s okay to take a detour. We change, we grow, we make mistakes, our health maybe different, but we heal, we evolve! Everything is going to be okay. Breathe, Trust, let it go!

“We do not fear the unknown. We fear what we think we know about the unknown.”
